Job Summary:

The plant operates as a profit center with all functions like Procurements, Outhouse manufacturing, Production, Assembly, Testing, HR and Admin. The incumbent is expected to be the Head of Plant for its efficient operation. He will be assisted by Plant head- Manufacturing and other direct reportees like Finance, HR, Procurement and production planning heads

This leadership position who will be able to interact effectively with global leaders and heads of other plants in rest of the world and take on the responsibility of overseeing plant activities in order to meet business objectives. The successful candidate will be accountable for all aspects of plant performance, and will ensure that objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner that's consistent with quality requirements.

Job Responsibility:

• Manage daily operations of the plant to meet time, cost and quality requirements of various projects under execution.
• Ensure safety and efficiency of the plant. Remain in compliance with ISO standards and all HSE guidelines.
• Oversee the supply chain requirement of Vadodara plant and its operations. Also be responsible for overcall control and monitoring of Vendors/ Suppliers/ assessments/ vendor rating and approvals through General Manager SMVD.
• Monitor and control plant processes as per Voith business management system.
• Prepare, analyze and issue production and performance reports as per the designated KPIs.
• Effective administrative control of the plant and meeting compliance requirements from statutory bodies.
• Exercise effective cost and time control to achieve company targets.
• Effective Production planning and control.
• Be responsible for planning and execution of CAPEX requirements of the plant.
• Be responsible and accountable for overall functioning of the plant.
• Any other tasks assigned my Management from time to time.

Desired Skills:

• Entrepreneurial ability and proven leadership skills in managing skilled workforce.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• High skill in understanding of assembly of manufactured precision parts and components of

close tolerances and fitment

• Good understanding of engineering documents and translation into manufacturing drawing/ documents
• Good knowledge of materials and welding processes
• Good knowledge and exposure to Quality Management systems.
• Previous experience of working in project environments would be a great advantage.
• Good knowledge of materials of manufacture and manufacturing processes.
• Good knowledge of vendors/ suppliers of heavy engineering components.

IT Skills:

The incumbent should have demonstrated skills in IT (MS Office productivity tools/ Auto CAD/ MS

Project/ Primavera). Previous experience of working with ERP systems like SAP would be given due

weightage.

Education Qualification & Working Experience:

• Graduate Engineer in Mechanical / Production engineering with 20+ years of experience in heavy fabrication/ Manufacturing/ machining companies in the previous years.
• Experience of working in other multinationals in the past would be added advantage.
• Experience of hydro turbines/ large pump manufacturing will be desirable
