Asset Reference Data Services (ARDS)

ARDS was created with the mission to help improve the quality, integrity, and reliability of the firm's critical data covering the Instrument and Pricing domains and sits within Securities Services. The organization's objectives are to deliver business impact through fit-for-purpose data, improve data capabilities across multiple lines of businesses (LOBs), implement data controls, and deliver reference data. ARDS establishes expectations that drive consistent data governance practices, develops technologies and processes to support data governance capabilities, partners with LOBs to embed data governance best practices and capabilities, and ensures sustainability by refining, measuring, and improving the ability to manage data.

Within ARDS the Instrument and Pricing Reference Data Operations teams provide high quality Reference Data to its subscribers from major external market providers under a single operating model. Asset prices and instrument attributes are sourced, validated, mastered and distributed via J.P. Morgan's strategic Reference Data architecture and is used for trading, risk management, fund valuation, settlement and regulatory reporting.

Roles & Responsibilities -

  • Supervise BAU activities of the team - Maintenance of instrument reference data in multiple business applications/databases, Monitoring Requests Queue.
  • Should be hands on with the process and systems; should provide daily BAU support
  • Devise and Conduct pro-active verification checks to ensure that processing meets the expected quality.
  • To conduct periodic tests for assessment of contingent support capability; close knowledge gaps, if any
  • Prioritize & manage project request in conjunction with BAU.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the team (across all hubs) for regular communication, eliciting issues, etc.
  • Manage business partners expectations - Interact / Communicate with the business partners at operating level on a regular basis.
  • Metrics - Provide weekly performance metrics/capacity analysis.
  • Ensure timely updation of SOPs, Issue Logs, Conduct "Best Practice Sharing Sessions"
  • Take ownership of on job training for TMs and OAs; regular review of progress and initiate actions to close gaps, if any
  • Partner on Data Quality initiatives & UAT testing.
  • Perform Business Continuity UATs & ensure BCP strategy is in place for the group
  • Staff Appraisal- Perform Appraisals / One on one meetings
  • Work closely on Business Development Initiatives / Scope screeps.
Eligibility -
  • College Degree, 6-8 years of Accounting / Banking / Cash Product / Securities Processing experience in financial services environment.
  • Knowledge of Equities/ Fixed income related instrument reference data, Middle office functions - desirable
  • Should have hands on approach
  • Knowledge of external reference data providers -BLOOMBERG, REUTERS, etc. will be an advantage
  • Good people skills and ability to drive energy levels within the team
  • Good time management skills and highly result oriented.
  • Focus on quality and controlled environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to follow things through.
  • Client focused and able to deliver on complex tasks.
  • Drives initiatives within the team and can motivate and direct the team in the right direction.
  • Good written & spoken English communication skills.
  • The teams operate in Asia, EMEA and NA shifts. The candidate should be willing to work in any shift.
