The Chinese Cook is responsible for preparing authentic Chinese dishes including starters, gravies, noodles, rice items, and dim sums while maintaining high standards of hygiene, food quality, and kitchen efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes including stir-fries, fried rice, noodles, soups, sauces, and starters.
Ensure the use of authentic Chinese ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques.
Manage mise en place (preparation) before service begins.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
Monitor food stock and report shortages to the kitchen supervisor.
Coordinate with service staff for timely delivery of food.
Ensure consistency in taste, portion, and presentation.
Follow all safety and sanitation procedures in line with company policy and FSSAI norms.
Assist in training junior kitchen staff and help them improve cooking techniques.
Take responsibility for kitchen equipment used in Chinese cooking (woks, steamers, knives).
Minimize waste and control food costs by using proper portioning.
