You will assist senior chefs in preparing a variety of Chinese dishes while maintaining hygiene and kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of Chinese dishes such as noodles, fried rice, dim sum, stir-fries, soups, and sauces.
Perform basic cooking tasks under the supervision of Commi I/II or CDP.
Maintain proper stock levels of prep ingredients such as chopped vegetables, sauces, and meats.
Clean and prepare workstations and cooking equipment before and after use.
Follow food safety standards and hygiene protocols strictly.
Support senior chefs during service times and food plating.
Ensure all mise en place is completed on time and to standard.
Label, date, and store food items correctly.
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as per standards.
Adhere to portion control and minimize wastage.
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of Chinese cuisine and ingredients.
Minimum 6 months - 1 year experience in a professional kitchen preferred.
Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
Understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards (HACCP knowledge is a plus).
