Job Description

A Chinese Chef specializes in preparing authentic Chinese cuisine using techniques like stir-frying, steaming, and roasting, focusing on fresh ingredients, balanced flavors, and precise presentation. They manage kitchen operations, including inventory, menu development, and food safety compliance. Key skills include wok cooking expertise, knife skills, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities



Food Preparation:

Prepare and cook a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes (e.g., dim sum, stir-fries, soups) to high standards.

Menu & Quality Control:

Develop new recipes, manage inventory, and ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation.

Kitchen Management:

Oversee daily operations, including cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards.

Team Leadership:

Supervise, train, and delegate tasks to junior kitchen staff.

Equipment Operation:

Expertly use wok stations, steamers, and other, specialized Chinese kitchen equipment.

Qualifications and Skills



Experience:

Proven experience as a Chinese Chef or similar role.

Culinary Knowledge:

Deep understanding of Chinese culinary techniques and flavor profiles.

Technical Skills:

Strong knife skills and proficiency with high-heat wok cooking.

Education:

Culinary arts diploma or relevant vocational training.

Compliance:

Sound knowledge of food safety regulations.
