Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and cooking of vegetarian and non-vegetarian
Chinese dishes
including stir-fries, dim sum, noodles, rice, gravies, soups, and sauces.
Perform daily
mise-en-place
: cutting vegetables, marinating proteins, preparing sauces, and setting up the line.
Ensure food quality, taste, portioning, and presentation are as per restaurant standards.
Operate equipment like
wok ranges, fryers, steamers
, and grills safely and efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and workstation in compliance with
FSSAI / HACCP
standards.
Assist the CDP during busy service hours and follow kitchen instructions promptly.
Label and store food items properly to ensure freshness and avoid wastage.
Communicate with service staff for smooth coordination and timely service.
Follow all SOPs and kitchen rules regarding hygiene, timing, safety, and teamwork.
Requirements:
Minimum
2-3 years of experience
as Commi 1 or equivalent in a Pan-Asian or Chinese kitchen.
Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques including wok cooking, blanching, steaming, and deep frying.
Ability to follow recipes, portion sizes, and plating standards.
Familiar with kitchen hygiene, food safety standards, and ingredient storage procedures.
Physically fit, punctual, and ready to work in a high-pressure environment.
Team player with good communication and adaptability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management (preferred but not mandatory).
Previous experience in fine dining or premium Pan-Asian restaurants is a plus.
Basic understanding of Pan-Asian ingredients and fusion concepts is an advantage.
Work Schedule:
Rotational shifts (Lunch/Dinner).
Availability on weekends and public holidays is mandatory.
