Job Description

The roles and responsibilities of a Chinese Chef de Partie (CDP) typically include:

Food Preparation:

Prepare and cook Chinese dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and standards.
Ensure that all ingredients are fresh and of high quality.

Menu Development:

Collaborate with the head chef or kitchen manager to create and update the Chinese cuisine menu.
Assist in designing new dishes and seasonal specials.

Quality Control:

Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented to meet quality and presentation standards.
Maintain consistency in taste, portion size, and plating.

Stock Management:

Assist in inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels and reporting when supplies need to be replenished.
Properly store and label all food items.

Sanitation and Safety:

Follow all health and safety guidelines and sanitation procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including kitchen equipment and utensils.

Teamwork:

Work closely with other kitchen staff members to ensure smooth service and timely food delivery.
Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff.

Creativity:

Bring creativity and innovation to the preparation and presentation of Chinese dishes.
