The
Chief Operating Officer role The COO DGS role will drive the operationalisation of an integrated Delivery Network across services lines and across geographies in the offshore and near shore locations. This role will support the delivery of all the service line crafts through the DGS, unlocking the full potential of SL sourcing and delivery strategy, ensuring the best solutions to our clients and the best experience for our people. You will act as the key orchestrator for dentsu APAC integrated solutions. Your Solution\xe2\x80\x99s outputs will be based on foundational best practice and past effectiveness. It also needs to reflect present day consumer behaviours and attitudes derived from insight. The outputs should also be future facing in defining new growth territories to explore and test and learn from. Your strategic deliverables will encompass industry, priority clients and bringing together the best of dentsu capabilities to craft integrated solutions. As a strategic advisor of dentsu and the agencies that service those clients, the Integrated Strategy Partner brings a strong point of view and critical thought leadership across business strategy and growth to inform new business solutions. This role will support the DGS Executive Leader in the annual planning and day-to-day management of the business activities across the full business lifecycle \xe2\x80\x93 strategy & planning, service delivery, process excellence and improvement for the DGS.
Financial Roadmap:

  • Ensuring that there are clear business strategies and execution plans in place to achieve the Financial Roadmap with primary accountability for achieving GM%, SL Margin % and Revenue Growth.
  • Ensuring the SLs are achieving SL Margin by effectively managing cost-to-serve in alignment with revenue forecast, when increasing or decreasing.
  • Facilitating the annual planning process in accordance with the Global COO and the annual plan for cost-to-serve, and then delivering on the cost-to-serve budget.
  • The cost-to-serve is the planned resource costs in accordance with revenue per resource which will be different by Service and Sub- Service for that market.
  • The cost-to-serve will be planned to improve quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year and the primary drives are client utilization, pyramid (span-of-control), compensation management and the placement of work in cost-effective location based on the overall Line of Business delivery strategy.
Key Accountabilities
  • Collaborate with DGS CEO and executive team to develop & implement overall strategy for DGS.
  • Lead the integration and implementation and embedding of delivery network model and OD, including driving the change programs through proactive communication, engagement, education and enablement of our people, and leading appropriate governance and stakeholder management practices.
  • Lead development and execution of delivery center location strategy for the near term and the long term
  • Lead the development and implementation of clear and consistent ways of working to enable best in class integrated delivery of a delivery network infrastructure to service client engagements, ensuring appropriate consideration of profitability and competitiveness in the marketplace.
  • Drive brand integration, awareness and transformation change programs using proactive communications, engagement, education and enablement of our people.
  • Margin performance and productivity tracking to facilitate margin optimization, monitoring and targeting productivity actions leading to margin sustainability and improvement.
  • Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities.
  • Manage the delivery of annual budget, with a heavy focus on helping the business and the service lines achieving planned client utilization, pyramid improvements, effectively managing compensation and achieving planned mix of most cost-effective delivery locations.
  • Drive operational efficiencies in collaboration with the G&A function leads with a focus on identifying opportunities to improve processes, eliminate redundancies in practices while embedding the usage of MSS across the service line
  • Define standards for and provide input to due diligence activities during M&A transactions where delivery centres are involved
  • Support our DEI strategy and plans across the DGS, role modelling and championing diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Develop and refine, lead and deploy the operating model and organization blueprint.
  • Implement, drive adoption and use of global systems (Concur, D365, Salesforce, Workday)
  • Establish consistent, repeatable and world-class services and integrated solutions that are data-driven, tech-enabled and ideas-led.
  • Establish world-class delivery capabilities in cost-effective \xe2\x80\x9ccenters of excellence\xe2\x80\x9d strategically located ensuring consistent, high-quality services and integrated solutions
  • Reducing unmanaged attrition
  • Lead the definition and implementation of stronger policies for operational excellence reflecting external and industry best practice.

Additional Information
As a member of the DGS Executive Leadership Team, this position will dual report to the DGS CEO and the Global Chief Operating Officer. This role will collaborate, and proactively work with the DGS Leadership team and their direct reports to implement and drive excellence in every area of business operations. This role will support the Global Chief Operating Officer in ensuring the effective execution of our business strategy, and that we have the required plans, metrics and targets in place to achieve our expected results. Key long-term goals are as follows:
  • Provide Service Lines with increased flexibility, scalability, and cost reduction in servicing their clients in an increasingly competitive market.
  • Provide Service Lines with access to world-class services from strategically located, capability-led global and regional delivery centers staffed with cost-effective, highly skilled professionals utilizing standard processes, methods, tools, metrics and architectures.
  • Provide Service Lines with an easy way to leverage nearshore / offshore delivery center resources to increase uptake and deliver consistent, high-quality services to clients in a cost-effective and seamless manner.
