The Chairman and Managing Director, Chief Executive of the Company and accountable to its Board of Directors and Shareholders. He/She is responsible for the efficient functioning of the company, and for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters. His/her responsibilities, among other things, include formulation of strategic vision for the business, developing business strategies and operating plans for short term and long term horizons, ensuring standards of quality and performance, closely monitoring the operating and financial results against agreed plans and budgets, systematic strengthening management at all levels - by recruitment, training, development, delegation and motivation.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:

The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity - and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity - in one of the followings: (a) Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE)

(b) Central Government including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services;

(c) State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is -Rs.2000 crore or more;

(d) Private Sector in company where the annual turnover is -Rs 2000 crore or more in a listed company. (-The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits)

QUALIFICATION: Full Time Graduate from a recognized institute with good academic record / CA / Cost Accountant. Person with Technical /MBA qualification and having experience in Management and familiarity with Finance, Marketing / Commerce will have an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE: Applicants should possess minimum 25 years of service in Group \'A\' service of State/ Central Government, in a Central Public Sector Undertaking or SPSE/ Pvt. Company where the annual turnover is Rs.2000 crore or more during the three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised. Applicant should have recent experience of 10 years in Power Sector and out of which 5 years should be at senior level of management.

ELIGIBILITY:

CONDITION OF IMMEDIATE ABSORPTION: Central Government Officers, including those of the Armed Forces of the Union and the All India Services, CPSE/SPSE/ Other organizations will be eligible for consideration only on an immediate absorption basis & no Deputation/Lien is allowed under any circumstances.

9.0 DURATION OF APPOINTMENT:

The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or upto the date of superannuation whichever is earlier. The age of superannuation is 60 years. However, superannuation age for existing WTDs of the Company is 62 years.

10.0 COMPENSATION/ REMUNERATION:

Average remuneration at advertised post is Rs.9 lacs per month plus Performance Related Pay and other benefits as per Company Policy (i) A Board level Director in PTC is eligible to apply. He /she would be considered as Internal Candidate.

(ii) Applicants from Central Government / All India Services should be holding a post of the level of Joint Secretary (scale of pay of Rs.144200-218200 (Level 14) CDA post 01.01.2016) or carrying equivalent scale of pay in Government of India with minimum length of service of two years on the date of application.

(iii) Applicants from the Armed forces of the Union should be holding a post of the level of Major General in the Army or equivalent rank in Navy/Air Force on the date of application.

(iv) Applicants from Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) should be working at Board level or one level below Board (scale of pay of Rs.150000-300000 (IDA) Post 01/01/2017) with minimum length of service of two years in this pay scale on the date of application.

(v) Applicants from State Public Sector Enterprises/ Private Sector should be working at Board level position on the date of application.
