. As a CDP, you will be responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation, presentation, and hygiene standards. You'll be expected to manage your team efficiently and contribute to menu development and kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to the restaurant's standards and recipes.
Manage a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, pastry, sauce, veg, etc.).
Supervise and train junior staff (commis and interns) within your section.
Ensure all food is stored, prepared, and served in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in your station at all times.
Collaborate with the Sous Chef and Head Chef in planning and improving menu items.
Control stock levels and assist in ordering kitchen supplies when needed.
Assist in minimizing kitchen waste and managing food cost effectively.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a CDP or strong experience as a Commis I in a fast-paced kitchen.
Culinary diploma or relevant certification preferred.
In-depth knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
Strong team player with leadership skills.
Attention to detail and creativity in presentation.
Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Preferred:
Experience in Indian, Continental, or Regional Northeast cuisine
