Prepare ingredients, including chopping, measuring, and pre-cooking, under the guidance of senior chefs.
Cooking and plating:
Cook dishes to a high standard, ensuring consistency and quality, and plate them in an appealing way.
Hygiene and safety:
Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation, follow all health and safety regulations, and ensure proper food storage and waste disposal.
Supervision and training:
Supervise and train junior chefs, like commis chefs, and motivate them to work efficiently.
Quality control:
Ensure all dishes meet the established standards, monitor portion control, and check for product freshness and correct storage rotation.
Coordination and teamwork:
Coordinate with other chefs to ensure smooth service and work as part of the overall kitchen team.
Assistance to senior chefs:
Support the head chef and sous chef with tasks such as creating new menu items or handling purchase orders.
Preparing specific food items and meal components at your station.
Following directions provided by the head chef.
Collaborating with the rest of the culinary team to ensure high-quality food and service.
Keeping your area of the kitchen safe and sanitary.
Stocktaking and ordering supplies for your station.
Improving your food preparation methods based on feedback.
Assisting in other areas of the kitchen when required.
