POSITION SUMMARY: Located at the Gurgaon office, Develops and maintains in-depth technical & global supply knowledge of assigned commodities and uses this knowledge to leverage opportunities & mitigate risks for Bechtel Projects. Maintains strategic relationship with key suppliers of Static equipment such as Columns and their Internals/Pressures Vessels/Heat Exchangers/Air Cooled Heat Exchangers. Candidate shall preferably be from Premium Manufacturing industry/OEM and conversant with design engineering and manufacturing aspects in the industry. RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to): Supports projects in developing sourcing strategy to deliver best value to our customers while giving due consideration to Project's Approved Manufacturers List, project financing considerations and compliance to tariff and quota risk. Performs in-depth technical review of supplier proposals as and when required. Identifies and qualifies new Suppliers as per business needs and maintains pre-qualification documents submitted by Suppliers Continually evaluates new - technologies/techniques that improve schedule and reduce cost Keeps track of developments, opportunities & challenges in acquisition of assigned commodities and keeps project management team and senior management abreast of the same. Maintains commodity heat map for assigned commodities Collaborates with other SMEs & other engineering colleagues across different business lines & locations Supports key/critical Supplier relationships with Supplier's senior project personnel executing orders to ensure performance of the work. Responsible for assigned orders from development through closure, to include engagement with Engineering on purchase requisition development, the acquisition and delivery of purchases, and order closeout to include supporting management of back-charges and claims. Communicates with Suppliers and personnel within Bechtel to establish clear definition of requirements, and to assure performance to purchase order terms and conditions. Compiles data needed to prepare any internal reports or presentations. Oversees Supplier performance and ensures Supplier evaluation reports are used for efficient execution of ongoing/ future projects Visits supplier or sub-supplier facilities as and when required to do so. Resolves emerging technical issues as and when they arise during execution Technical Knowledge Requirement: In-depth knowledge of the assigned commodity including but not limited to the below : Manufacturing processes for main commodity & all subcomponents. Entire supply chain including sub-tier suppliers, input material sources. General global supply landscape, manufacturing & fabrication methods, related challenges. Innovative technologies/techniques & alternate material & component knowledge related to the main commodity for Major Suppliers General principles & techniques of testing & inspection requirements. Fully conversant with related engineering standards & codes. Knowledge on design using HTRI, Compress, PVElite, BJAC, HTRI shall be an added advantage Ability to present to a variety of internal and external audiences in remote locations Ability to present technical papers at industry conferences. Excellent techno-commercial knowledge, manufacturing capabilities and capacities of domestic & global suppliers. Well conversant with recent advancements in the industry and supply chain challenges/opportunities. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a reputed University. Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 15+ years of industry experience as specialist role in Static equipment such as Columns and their Internals/Pressures Vessels/Heat Exchangers/Air Cooled Heat Exchangers.
