Position Summary: This position will support global Program Teams by creating/modifying Shape part drawings using the OEM's 3D CAD math data. Drawings must be completed in an efficient and acceptable manner in accordance with Shape and industry standards. The drawings are sent to our suppliers to be used for tool and gage design. We also link the released drawings in our Plex (ERP) Enterprise Resource Planning system to be used for manufacturing parts. You will work closely with the product design teams located here in Grand Haven, MI and all over the world to ensure we build quality tools, gages, and parts for our customers. You will actively participate in problem solving and perform other activities as assigned. Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:
* Create or modify Shape preliminary, pre-production, and production prints for parts in an efficient and acceptable manner in accordance with Shape and industry standards.
* Provide design and drafting support for B.U.'s.
* Provide assistance and training, if required, to Engineers/Associates with questions or concerns.
* Establish a professional relationship with our internal and external customers.
* Provide CAD math data transfers for our internal and external customers.
* Provide support in more than one CAD software application, viewers, and/or other layout programs as required.
* Manage CAD files and prints in the Shape controlled area.
* Aid in establishing and maintaining departmental processes and drafting/design standards.
* Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and work instructions.
* Aid in providing strategic direction concerning CAD issues and industry trends.
* Participate in departmental and corporate meetings as required.
* Maintain departmental databases and personal time logs for tracking and reporting purposes in Plex as required.
* Operate the following: Personal computer, plotters, and engineering copiers.
* Use the following software applications as required:
o Microsoft Office
o Product Data Management software
o Plex ERP System
