As the Business Management professional in our Corporate & Investment Banking, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm

Your team is Securities Services, which is market leader in providing innovative custody, fund accounting and administration to the world\'s largest institutional investors, alternative asset managers and debt and equity issuers. J.P. Morgan\'s Custody and Fund Services business is comprised of Custody, Accounting, Transfer Agency, Middle Office outsourcing, Foreign Exchange, and other activities related to servicing assets for traditional and alternative funds; it leverages its scale and capabilities in more than 100 markets to help clients optimize efficiency, mitigate risk and enhance revenue through a broad range of collateral management, securities financing and alternative investment services.

They are seeking a Business Manager at Vice President level located in the Mumbai office. Your role will provide support for the Securities Services business and help to deliver key strategic initiatives within primarily relating to Client Costing and Client Profitability. The candidate will work closely with the business along with the functional partners across the firm which includes Product Management, Sales, Product Controllers, Planning & Analysis, Pricing, Client Service, Product Development, Operations, Technology as well as Risk, BCO and Compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Client Costing and Client Profitability. Manage costing analytics for the business to enable accurate client profitability assessment
  • Develop expense inputs for deal modelling, working in partnership with pricing teams. Drive analysis around headcount and cost assessments for new deals
  • Own the Cost to Serve processes, focusing primarily on APAC region. Drive analytics around client profitability (SVA, ROE) focusing on expenses but also coordinating with product and sales BM teams on completing the overall client story
  • Team Management. Provide local management support for Client Costing team members. Act as the Mumbai lead for the central Business Management team
  • Provide support with Utilities Business Management (Client Service, Product Development, Pricing & Billing)
  • Provide oversight of process automation and data visualization initiatives across the space
  • Reporting & Analytics. Provide reporting with key drivers for expense trends across various Securities Services products. Own the Low Performing Client expense analytics, key inputs into client profitability
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • 10+ years of experience in financial services; prior experience in Securities Services preferred
  • Strong track record in finance and accounting
  • Motivational, supportive and focused on continuing personal development and that of wider matrix partners via sharing knowledge
  • Willingness to take initiative and work independently / be a problem solver and set direction
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with business leaders
  • Commercial acumen - Ability to understand and grow the strategic business vision; focus on improving the bottom line (SVA)
  • Effective communicator - create logical and conclusive presentations, distilling complex subject matter into management-ready materials
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Experience with expense management and controls required
  • Strong attention to detail, along with ability to work in a controlled environment
  • Effective planning and time management skills
  • Expert Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills; Alteryx and Tableau familiarity preferred
