Following the launch of our digital bank, Chase UK, we are embarking on a finance data transformation project to support the International Consumer Business (IBC). This will culminate in the development of a finance data platform to assist the Finance function in the execution of its business critical control responsibilities as well as supporting business decision making with modern finance analytics and insights. This project will deliver end to end data capabilities for the Finance function and other relevant stakeholders covering data modeling, reporting, dashboarding and the development of any bespoke tooling required.
You will be responsible for requirements, design and delivery of data related aspects for the project in particular data schemas, underlying business logic and data modelling working closely with our data engineers. Over time you will become our finance data SME, building an in depth knowledge of all areas of data used by Finance bridging the gap between the business and engineers.
Responsibilities:
Owning the business led design of finance data schemas, partnering closely with finance stakeholders and data engineers
Requirements for onboarding of required datasets into the data lake underpinning the platform
Supporting finance in ad-hoc data analytics or deep dive analysis, working alongside data engineers and business intelligence analysts to develop long term analytics solutions as appropriate
Working alongside product developers on the more complex data aspects of their feature delivery
Developing and iterating aggregated data views and reports as required by finance stakeholders and working with data engineers to optimize and embed these within our platform pipelines
Acting as finance data SME in the triage of data issues and providing technical support into impact analysis and change management processes
Ensuring appropriate documentation, controls and testing are in place to support your features at all times, working alongside our controls manager on these aspects
Strengths and Capabilities:
Numerical with a good understanding of basic finance concepts, ideally an accounting background
Ability to work in collaborative, cross-functional, agile teams as well as independently
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent SQL coding capabilities and good practical experience in Python
Ability to write business requirements and drive execution of solutions
Self-starter and highly self-motivated
Attention to detail and a passion for applying best practices
Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years' experience in data schema design and database development / enhancement
A bachelor's degree or equivalent in data analytics or computer science related fields is preferred. Accounting or finance related fields will also be considered
