Business Development Manager - General Sales for Kolkata Location (Freight Forwarding Industry only).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales options.
  • Work on achieving volume\revenue targets set by the vertical in terms of getting direct import and and export customers, forwarders and CHA container volume in CFS
  • Sells products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects; recommending solutions.
  • Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements.
  • Create a plan to target and acquire new customers, and generation of revenue by adding new customers and increase business from existing customers by increasing their wallet share.
  • Visit customers on a regular basis, discuss and understand their requirement finalize commercials and potential
  • Apply commercial judgment to identify and convert cross selling opportunities
  • Conduct Market analysis concerning potential customer, volumes, port pairings, and share inputs
  • Develop and implement sales plans to take advantage of market opportunities
  • Identifies market demand on various products and recommend improvement if required as per market trends.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops;
  • Reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; bench marking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Ensuring budgets and Sales Goals are achieved
  • Develop a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability
  • Setting individual sales target within the team and monitoring the sales team
  • Maintain Strong customer relations.
  • Continuously strive for providing best services to the customer.
Desired Candidate Profile

Background in Shipping and Logistics is preferred

MBA in Sales\ Marketing will be an added advantage
