If you would like some flexibility, then please discuss this with the hiring manager. Introduction: To support the Demand Manager to drive the CDS Data Engineering agenda. This involves the collation, monitoring and regular review of demand for all key portfolio and programme prioritisation, forecasting, financial planning, understanding the short- and long-term P&L impact of all commercial decisions, and making recommendations to the business on best ways to optimise commercial performance.

  • Maintain a backlog, plan and manage demand of multiple projects and work streams for key CDS platforms and services
  • Nurture the relationship with Product Owners, Portfolio Management and the Transaction Cycle Leads.
  • Help resolve issues / blockers at every stage through to resolution for Medium Term Planning (MTP) funding
  • Own the MTP status report and accuracy of the facts, ensuring consistency across reporting and automating where possible
  • Manage financial & resource forecasts as well as actuals against the budget for MTP providing inputs to management meeting reporting
  • Drives the team to ensure KPI scores are maintained / changes managed in line with expectations
  • Ensure wider organisation is engaged & aligned to feature team needs, including timely / pre-emptive governance, approvals, dispensations
  • Deliver Ways of Working and KPI training across all locations for CDS

What will you be doing?
  • Oversee demand backlog management and portfolio KPI performance to drive strategy recommendations
  • Understand in depth all P&L drivers, and the impact of different financial levers for the CDS MTP work stack for demand
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of how the business and products work in order to suggest sound recommendations to help drive strategic direction
  • Business case definition and benefits management for MTP planning and monitoring
  • Manage project governance and KPIs
  • Ensure financial forecasting and budget management is up to date and reporting is automated
  • Ensure resource management of business and technical project team resources is tracked and up to date
  • Monitor performance vs. MTP and revised outlooks, identifying and communicating risks and putting forward recommendations to bring portfolio performance back on track.
  • Maintain regular updates and feed into finance, based on latest financial risks and opportunities

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong evidence of stakeholder management at all levels
  • Strong evidence of following a controlled project management methodology
  • Ability to motivate business analysts and other project team members, in a geographically dispersed environment
  • Experience in overseeing performance of products or projects with a high level of regulatory scrutiny
  • Experience of working effectively in a multi-function matrix environment
  • Strong financial and analytical skills

Skills that will help you in the role
  • APM, PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent Project Management qualification, Agile Project Management, Programme Management, Product Owner, Business analysis or Scrum Master training or qualifications
  • Experience of working in an agile project team
  • Experience in Financial Services project delivery
  • Experience working with tools used to support MI and BI production such as Excel (incl. pivot tables), Tableau, SAS or similar
  • Experience in working in functions requiring similar skills, for example: portfolio management, finance, analytical or reporting roles, financially-focused control roles, credit risk oversight
