Business Analyst II - Hyperion, Essbase

Overview:

The Business Analyst, MyMPA will be part of Mastercard's Analytics & Metrics Team and is expected for application development and operational support across our Essbase application platform. Hands on development skills combined with an ability to analyze and understand end user requirements are critical success factors within this role. This role requires the skills and desire to work as an individual contributor as well as, collaborate cross functionally with various business constituents. Daily interaction and work performance within the MyMPA team necessitates a team player with a winning attitude.

Significant dealings with FP&A, Sales, Excellence and other Mastercard groups is routine and leading system initiatives/development across these teams is required.

This challenging role calls for an individual to balance a demanding workload and priorities which include application development, process improvements, operational support, and management reporting. A demonstrated ability to understand and align system and business strategies through the delivery of scalable and sustainable application design and development is key to successful performance.

This is a work from office job located in Pune and may require minimal (~5%) travel. During critical business periods this role may require 24-hour (on call) availability to support systems and financial processing.

Role:

  • Build/Modify Essbase BSO/ASO cubes, calculations, report scripts, MDX scripts and groovy scripts for Essbase Automation, Support FP&A team to automate any reporting need
  • Assist team on Essbase related support and data related queries, obtain data from different sources and load it into Essbase cubes, sql server for reporting purposes
  • Process month end and quarterly close activities for management reporting, manage user provisioning, monitor system environment for optimal performance.
  • Perform system changes and set up required for ensuring data integrity exists for internal and external reporting.
  • Maintain focus on quality deliverables and effectively manage project tasks, participate in project analysis, prepare/deliver presentations and training and provide guidance and direction to business users.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities with the process / application you support.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key business users and exhibit a solid understanding of basic financial concepts and practices.
All About You:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent - required
  • Post Graduate degree - desirable
  • Relevant Professional Certifications such as Hyperion or Essbase Certification Required Experience
  • A positive track record in implementing and managing Hyperion on premise applications, clearly understands the concepts of ASO, BSO, MAXL, MDX.
  • Knowledge of industry leading activities
  • Prior hands on experience implementing Essbase solutions.
