We are looking for a creative individual with excellent functional understanding of agriculture/life science and informatics domains, user requirements gathering and communication skills to help in the process of software development in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively and independently on agile software teams to create innovative software systems.
• Communicate complex technical information to a variety of audiences in a clear and concise manner.
• Conduct workshops with researchers/Subject Matter Experts to understand business processes, data structures, system design and define user requirements.
• Document requirements as User Stories in JIRA and Confluence to ensure that the business needs are captured with high degree of accuracy.
• Drive user centered design process. Create wireframes, interview users, create process flow maps, and develop personas.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner, SME(s), development and testing team on functional specifications during development and testing phases.
• Perform functional testing/validation of design as per the user requirements to ensure that the product scope is met.
• Understand databases to extract, summarize, and report data.
• Provide product training to the Users & Support Team, be a one-point contact for any technical support required for the product during and after implementation.
• Maintain deep understanding of product capabilities and articulate proper use of the functionality as and when required.

Qualifications

Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Qualifications: M.S. in Agriculture, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Life Science, Information Management or related field or equivalent amount of relevant education and experience.

• 3-5 years' experience in gathering user requirements, writing user stories, doing functional testing and problem solving with attention to details.
• Should have a strong understanding of the agriculture/life science domain and technologies.
• Should have a good understanding of software development best practices, systems development lifecycle, and enterprise architecture principles.
• Should have experience working in a Scrum/Agile environment.
• A confident speaker; able to articulate messages well in small to medium size groups.
• Should be able to handle conflicts and approach negotiations in a diplomatic but confident manner.
• Working or development experience with LIS/LIMS or other Life Science software products is an advantage.
