Introduction:
Infrastructure Services is the organization which runs, builds and maintains the Bank's IT infrastructure. The BA4 role translates to the EDI BRR (Barclays Records Retention) Support position and is responsible for the delivery of EDI components within the project and ensuring BAU in BHS-EDI operations.
A technical BRR Analyst providing project, monitoring & EDI infrastructure delivery and/or live systems support into the Barclays BHS- EDI Barclays Records Retention environments. The role provides exposure to leading edge software technology and underlying platforms operating mission critical services to the group.
What will you be doing? The planning & implementation of all changes to the components of a live infrastructure, from request for change or project initiation through to deployment and review, to support the continued availability, effectiveness and risk compliance of the infrastructure.
To drive & pro-actively maintain or enhance computer systems/ infrastructure components and services, maximizing use of available resources to ensure that business objectives are met and deliverables achieved to agreed timescale, budget and quality.
To take responsibility for completing tasks, focusing on requirements and planning to meet client needs, which the job holder helps to identify, advise and recommend technical solutions based on experience and industry knowledge.
React quickly and as necessary to live systems errors and service problems to minimize downtime and restore service. Key focus will be required upon identification of root cause and implementation of permanent fix.

The primary activities involved in this roles are:

• Code deployment/promotions
• Application on-boardings to existing platform
• Service Management (Change, Incident, Problem, etc)
• Basic Automations
• Integration of the developed code with existing upstream and downstream systems
• Unix Shell/Perl Scripting and SQL
• Technology upgrades
• Supporting existing application and existing data migration
• Some knowledge of development
• This position consists of delivering & maintaining EDI technologies and services to Barclays with a focus on building and supporting Barclays Records Retention (BRR) which is a records retention platform for structured data retention in Barclays. This position requires an ability to analyze requirements, application on-boarding, develop (automation), review, build, test, and support the record retention platform. Perform proof-of-concepts, build and deliver infrastructure, and support/maintain the shared records retention platform and utilities and dedicated farms. Additional responsibilities include technology and skills transfer within the team and throughout the development community and an ability to troubleshoot application runtime issues.
