Introduction: The VP of COO Compliance will, along with other VPs in BUK Compliance and Compliance colleagues in India, be part of the Barclays Global Service Centre, India (BGSC)Compliance Team. The Compliance team are split into Centres of Excellence (CoE) based on expertise. The role holder will be part of the Leadership team for the COO business across a broad range of Risk & Control activities across the relevant businesses. The role will also be working closely with the BUK COO Compliance Team What will you be doing . Provide oversight of Conduct risks and, in partnership with Legal, provide advice and oversight on rules, guidance and proposed regulatory changes . Proving oversight, guidance and escalation on complex/high profile issues whilst ensuring the business deliver high quality, timely commitments internally and externally to regulators . Providing thought leadership within the Compliance function including the continued embedment of the Business Oversight Compliance (BOC) Target Operating Model (TOM) . Ensure robust stakeholder management with BUK Leadership in BGSC . Provide timely resolution and escalation on key issues to local and global stakeholders . Invest in the development of colleagues across the Customer team through meaningful development plans . To undertake Internal Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA) and Verification Checks (VC) as applicable . Maintain regular communication/liaison with relevant senior management, business and others to ensure that they are aware of the business and regulatory risks, including advising them of significant policy matters, breaches, if any identified, accordingly to log issues and also issue breach notification or Policy reminders . To work with APAC control room and other Compliance colleagues with regards to adhoc inquires and queries What we\'re looking for: . Graduate Degree, . Relevant experience of min 8-10 years gained in the Bank and/or a similar financial institution in compliance function preferably at Global Off-shoring Centres/Regulatory Compliance role. . Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at a senior level. . Proven communication and problem solving skills. Creative thinking and strong judgment and decision making. . Strong experience of risk management at a senior level. . Understanding of new technologies and the use of Data in retail banking organisations. .
