Job Description

Overview:

The BMS Engineer is responsible for operating and maintaining the Building Management System to ensure the optimal performance of building systems, including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), lighting, security, and other related systems.

Key Responsibilities:

System Monitoring:

1.Monitor and control the Building Management System to ensure all building systems operate efficiently and effectively.

2.Analyze data from various sensors and systems to identify and address issues promptly with the help of OEM/ CAMC/AMC vendor

3.Respond to alarms and alerts in a timely manner and take appropriate corrective actions.

Routine Maintenance:

Perform routine checks and inspections of the BMS equipment to ensure proper working.

Functionality.

1.Ensure preventive maintenance tasks to minimize system downtime.

2.Collaborate with maintenance teams to address any identified issues.

Troubleshooting:

1.Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with the BMS and related building systems.

2.Coordinate with maintenance and technical teams to resolve complex issues.

3.Document and report issues, resolutions, and ongoing maintenance activities.

Programming and Configuration:

1.Assist in the programming and configuration of the BMS to meet the specific requirements of the building.

2.Work with the engineering team to implement changes and updates to the system as needed.

Energy Management:

1.Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving strategies to optimize building performance.

2.Collaborate with energy management initiatives to reduce operational costs.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of system performance, maintenance activities, and changes to the BMS configuration.

Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and readily available for reference.

Training:

1.Provide training to building staff on the proper use and response to the BMS.

2.Keep abreast of new technologies and industry best practices related to building automation.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or education in a relevant field is a plus. Previous experience in operating and maintaining Building Management Systems. Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and other building infrastructure. Familiarity with control systems and automation protocols. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
