Able to contribute independently and effectively & act as a solid team player towards delivery of high-profile projects. Good communication & articulation skills. Good-to-have: Some knowledge of, or willingness to learn, technologies such as HDFS, Hive, Impala, HBase and Oozie. Good understanding of Functional Programming paradigm. Unit and Integration testing (including mocking). Proficient with version-control solutions such as Git or SVN. Familiarity and experience in using continuous integration tools (Gitlab, Bamboo, Jenkins) and/or deployment (Puppet). Experience working in Agile Scrum methodologies. Build tools (Maven, SBT or Gradle). Linux and bash/ruby scripting. Proficient with SQL. Understanding of FX financial markets. Responsibilities of / Expectations from the role: Contribute to design, development and maintenance of new products & features utilizing advanced highly scalable Big data distributed platforms. Build and enhance sophisticated Analytics and Surveillance algorithms and contribute towards large scale greenfield projects. Work as part of a Scrum team, contributing to Agile SDLC processes to ensure we meet our business requirements. Operate collaboratively with other development and QA staff, supported by Development Managers. Ensure development best practices are followed and help to improve them. Contributing towards resolving bugs and Production outages. Builds trusting relationships with team and colleagues, collaborating closely with team. Communicates clearly with team and keeps clear lines of communication open to ensure full understanding of information and tasks, asking questions where needed. Takes initiative to develop knowledge in technology products and tools through on the job learning, certifications and projects.
