Key Responsibilities of a Belt Jointer:

• Splicing: Joining conveyor belt sections using hot or cold vulcanization techniques.

• Repairing: Fixing damaged belts, including patching, edge sealing, and addressing wear and tear.

• Installation: Setting up new conveyor systems, including aligning and tensioning belts.

• Maintenance: Regularly inspecting belts and components, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring proper functionality.

• Safety: Adhering to safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and proper use of equipment.

• Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently using tools like vulcanizing presses, belt grinders, and skivers.

• Record Keeping: Maintaining records of belt condition, repairs, and maintenance activities.

• Material Management: Determining and selecting materials required for each job and ensuring proper handling.

• Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues with conveyor belt systems.

• Communication: Communicating effectively with supervisors and other team members.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Skills: Experience with belt splicing techniques, tool operation, and conveyor system maintenance.
