The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner. They are expected to maintain a high level of customer service, ensuring guest satisfaction, and adhere to hotel policies and health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Beverage Preparation and Service:
- Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes.
- Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
- Serve drinks to guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take beverage orders from guests and waitstaff.
2.
Customer Service:
- Greet guests in a courteous and professional manner.
- Provide menu recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages.
- Ensure guests are satisfied with their drinks and service.
- Handle guest complaints and concerns promptly and courteously.
3.
Bar Maintenance and Cleanliness:
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area.
- Clean and sanitize bar equipment and tools.
- Ensure bar supplies and stocks are replenished as needed.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
4.
Cash Handling and Inventory:
- Handle cash transactions accurately.
- Keep track of bar inventory and report any shortages.
- Assist in inventory management and stock control.
5.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other staff members.
- Assist in training new bar staff as needed.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and serving staff.
6.
Compliance and Policies:
- Follow all hotel policies and procedures.
- Comply with state and local laws regarding alcohol service.
- Ensure responsible alcohol service to guests.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bartender.
- Knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks.
- Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked, and clean.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant training or certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around during the shift.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items such as cases of beverages.
- Manual dexterity to handle bar equipment.
