Job Summary:

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks while ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the cafe or bar area.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to standard recipes. Greet customers warmly and take orders efficiently and accurately. Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other cafe equipment safely and effectively. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tables, and equipment in compliance with hygiene standards. Refill supplies, stock ingredients, and ensure the availability of all necessary items during operations. Handle cash, POS transactions, and billing with accuracy. Educate customers about menu offerings, ingredients, and brewing methods when required. Assist in opening and closing duties, including inventory checks and cleaning routines. Uphold company service standards and contribute to a welcoming environment. Support team members and assist during peak hours.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role in hospitality. Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso machines, and drink preparation. Excellent communication and customer interaction skills. Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards. Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Education & Experience:

Minimum HSC or equivalent qualification. Certification in Barista Training or Coffee Art is an added advantage. 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
