The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages, and light food items while delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves maintaining a clean and welcoming cafe environment, handling cash and POS transactions, and ensuring guests have an enjoyable and efficient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Greet customers warmly and take accurate beverage and food orders.
Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages to company standards.
Operate coffee machines, blenders, grinders, and other cafe equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe, including tables, counters, and equipment.
Restock supplies such as coffee beans, milk, syrups, and pastries as needed.
Handle cash and card transactions accurately; balance the cash register at the end of shifts.
Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for food and beverage preparation.
Provide product recommendations and promote menu items or seasonal specials.
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service role (preferred but not required).
Passion for coffee, beverages, and hospitality.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math and cash-handling skills.
Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and attitude.
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
Work Environment
Fast-paced cafe or coffee shop setting.
Requires standing for long periods and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
