Job Summary

The Barista / Cafe Steward is responsible for preparing and serving coffee, beverages, and light food items while ensuring excellent guest service, cleanliness, and hygiene standards. The role focuses on creating a welcoming cafe experience and maintaining high service quality.

Key Responsibilities

Service & Guest Handling

Greet guests warmly and take orders accurately Serve coffee, beverages, and food items promptly Handle guest queries and complaints politely Maintain a friendly and professional attitude at all times

Beverage Preparation

Prepare espresso-based drinks, tea, and cold beverages Follow standard recipes and presentation guidelines Ensure consistency in taste and quality

Hygiene & Cleanliness

Maintain cleanliness of cafe area, counters, and equipment Follow food safety and hygiene standards Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients

Billing & Cash Handling

Operate POS/billing system correctly Handle cash/card transactions responsibly Maintain basic billing accuracy

Stock & Operations

Assist in stock checking and replenishment Minimize wastage of coffee, milk, and consumables Report equipment issues to supervisor

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 10th / 12th pass Basic knowledge of coffee and beverage service (preferred) Good communication and customer-service skills Neat appearance and positive attitude Ability to work in shifts and under pressure

Experience

Fresher or 1-2 years experience in cafe / hotel / restaurant preferred
