Job Summary:

The

Barista

is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming cafe environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about coffee, friendly, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks, teas, and smoothies. Operate coffee machines, grinders, and brewing equipment according to standards. Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and answering menu questions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and guest areas. Ensure all beverages are prepared to company quality standards and presentation guidelines. Handle cash and card transactions accurately using POS systems. Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times. Replenish stock such as coffee beans, milk, syrups, and takeaway supplies. Support the cafe team with general tasks including dishwashing, restocking, and opening/closing duties. Stay updated on new menu items and seasonal promotions.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a barista or in a cafe/restaurant environment preferred. Basic knowledge of coffee preparation and espresso machines. Friendly personality with strong customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask. Good communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

Barista certification or coffee training (e.g., SCA, Latte Art). Passion for coffee and interest in learning more about specialty brews. Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices.
