Supervise daily cleaning and sanitation operations, ensuring adherence to all hygiene and food safety standards.
Staff Supervision & Training:
Train new hires and current staff on proper hygiene practices, food handling, and the use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Inspections & Audits:
Conduct regular inspections and audits of all areas, including storage, receiving, and waste disposal zones, to ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.
HACCP & GMP Implementation:
Manage and implement food safety systems like HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
Record Maintenance:
Maintain accurate and efficient records related to the store's sanitation and hygiene programs.
Liaising with External Agencies:
Communicate with external bodies, such as laboratories and health departments, regarding sanitary matters.
Problem Resolution:
Address and resolve complaints related to cleanliness or hygiene issues.
Safety & Maintenance:
Identify and report any maintenance needs, safety hazards, or damaged equipment to management.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
Previous experience in a similar hygiene or food safety role is often required.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, GMP, and general health and safety principles.
Training:
Knowledge of chemical safety, pest awareness, and proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage.
Leadership:
Ability to supervise, guide, and motivate cleaning staff.
Communication:
Strong communication skills to liaise with staff, management, and external agencies.
Attention to Detail:
Diligent in performing tasks and ensuring thorough cleaning.
