Recipe Development:
Creating and testing new and exciting recipes, developing seasonal menus, and innovating to meet customer preferences.
Presentation & Decoration:
Decorating and presenting baked goods in a visually appealing and tasteful manner using various icings, toppings, and garnishes.
Quality Control:
Ensuring consistency and high quality in all baked goods and monitoring the condition of ingredients and equipment.
Inventory & Procurement:
Monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders, and managing the pastry section's budget.
Food Safety & Sanitation:
Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations, and following proper food handling procedures.
Staff Management:
Supervising, training, and mentoring junior chefs and apprentices, and potentially assisting in recruiting new personnel.
Collaboration:
Working effectively with the head chef, management, and other culinary staff to ensure desserts complement the main courses and align with the overall kitchen vision.
Customer Interaction:
Meeting with clients to discuss and plan custom-made desserts for special occasions like weddings and birthdays.
