The Bakery & Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a wide variety of pastries, desserts, bread, and other baked goods to the highest standards. The role involves creativity in developing new recipes, maintaining quality and consistency, ensuring proper storage and hygiene standards, and supporting the smooth operation of the bakery section.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and produce a wide range of baked goods including breads, pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, and specialty items.
Develop and test new dessert menus and seasonal offerings in coordination with the Executive Chef.
Ensure all bakery items meet the hotel's quality, presentation, and taste standards.
Manage ingredient stocks and ensure timely requisition of bakery and pastry items.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards as per food safety regulations.
Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure consistent product quality.
Decorate pastries and desserts using modern techniques and presentation styles.
Supervise and train bakery team members, ensuring adherence to recipes and standards.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients and finished products.
Minimize waste through proper planning, portion control, and inventory management.
Coordinate with other kitchen sections for buffet setups, banquets, and special events.
Follow all hotel policies regarding health, safety, and hygiene.
