Job Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Backend Costing Engineer to optimize the cost-effectiveness of our automation solutions. The role involves developing and maintaining costing models, analyzing project and product costs, and ensuring seamless integration of costing data within backend systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and finance teams to improve profitability, drive cost efficiencies, and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Develop & Maintain Costing Models: Create and update detailed costing models for automation projects, considering materials, labor, overhead, software, and integration costs.
Backend System Integration: Ensure costing models are integrated with ERP, PLM, and other backend systems for accuracy and seamless data flow.
Cost Analysis & Reporting: Analyze costs of ongoing and completed projects, identify cost drivers, variances, and opportunities for optimization, and prepare management reports.
Value Engineering: Work with engineering teams to reduce costs while maintaining quality and performance.
Supplier Cost Analysis: Review supplier quotes and cost structures to ensure competitive pricing and potential savings.
Standard Costing: Establish, monitor, and update standard costs, analyzing deviations and recommending corrections.
Requirements
B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
6-8 years of experience in cost engineering/cost analysis in automation, manufacturing, or capital equipment industries.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and automation technologies (robotics, PLCs, sensors, drives).
Proficiency in costing models, Excel, and database tools.
Solid understanding of cost accounting principles (standard costing, variance analysis, activity-based costing).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication skills to present financial/costing data to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams.
