AVP Position Overview Job Title- AVP Location- Mumbai Role Description The Jobholder report to VP - Deputy Head Securities & Custody Operations, in terms of guidance and authority and is guided by him/her in terms of strategic issues, compliance, etc. However the jobholder should be able to independently interact with Internal/External parties and is expected to be aware of the changes in the regulation This role of Analyst requires a candidate with Indian capital market experience as this role requires coordination with brokers, depository and exchanges. The team is tasked to create processes for confirmation of equity trades, GSEC, Global Depository receipts, settlements, payin & payout of securities, reconciliation, holding updation and regulatory reporting for India market and performing UAT. The role also requires Static data creation and maintenance along with tracking and processing of Corporate action. This function required adherence to local regulatory policies and reporting to regulator. This is an important positions from the project perspective as it requires designing the BAU processes for meeting the SLA and Regulatory requirements. Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision making areas: Exposure to Indian capital market experience as this role requires coordination with brokers, depositories, regulators and exchanges, handling BAU. Confirmation of equity trades, GSEC trades, Global Depository receipts, settlements, payin & payout of securities, reconciliation, cash settlement, holding updation and regulatory reporting for India market. Performing day to day supervision of direct repartees in the team handling equity and government securities clearing and settlements. All operational and people management issues are dealt with in a timely manner, operational control, identify failures and provide solutions and grooming team members. Training on processes and troubleshooting/problem solving along with liasing with market participants and various regulators and involve in UAT. Assisting team members to meet their objectives provide them with constructive and timely feedback. Identifying training needs for the team members (Functional as well as Soft Skills) and ensuring that individual team members are aware of the policies, controls and procedures that apply to their role . The role also requires market knowledge of corporate action processing. Serve as technical operational expert for queries from clients/team members etc. Building a strong mechanism to take care of volume peaks during peak season Ensure strict adherence to all internal and external process guidelines including compliance and legal so as to build and maintain robust control environment. Identifying operational risks proactively and mitigating appropriately. Ensure adequate back-ups created for all critical positions and assist other teams during contingencies (Staff shortage, high volumes etc). Work very closely with the process owners/stakeholders and other internal clients for overall growth of the bank\'s business Your skills and experience Graduate (BA / BS / B.Com, etc.) with 5 to 8 year experience in the relevant field Exposure to the Indian capital markets, settlements or having custody background would be preferred Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills The candidate should be proficient in written and verbal communication.
