Inviting applications for the role of AVP - CAT Modelling!

As the Assistant Vice President of Catastrophe Modeling, you will be responsible for leading the pricing support for Insurance and Reinsurance deals using catastrophe risk models to support strategic decision-making and risk management initiatives. This role requires a strong background in catastrophe modeling, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

Operations and Catastrophe Modeling Leadership:

\xc2\xb7 Lead and manage the operational aspects of the catastrophe modelling team, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operations

\xc2\xb7 Provide guidance and expertise to the team performing quote, bound, portfolio reporting and analytics, aggregation functions, etc. by performing activities like data cleansing, slip coding, model imports, model runs, exposure and loss summary reports

\xc2\xb7 Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and workflows to optimize team performance.

Risk Assessment and Analysis:

\xc2\xb7 Conduct in-depth analysis of catastrophe risk exposure and provide insights to inform business decisions.

\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and other departments to integrate catastrophe risk considerations into overall risk management strategies.

Quality Assurance:

\xc2\xb7 Implement and maintain quality assurance measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of catastrophe modelling outputs.

\xc2\xb7 Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the team\'s performance.

Process Optimization:

\xc2\xb7 Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

\xc2\xb7 Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and reduce turnaround times.

Stakeholder Communication:

\xc2\xb7 Effectively communicate complex modeling concepts and results to stakeholders.

\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with senior leadership to provide strategic insights based on catastrophe modeling outcomes.

Qualifications we seek in you!

Minimum Qualifications

\xc2\xb7 Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, etc.).

\xc2\xb7 Extensive experience in catastrophe modeling within the insurance or reinsurance industry.

\xc2\xb7 Strong proficiency in catastrophe modeling software (e.g., RMS, AIR, or similar).

\xc2\xb7 Leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.

\xc2\xb7 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to stakeholders.

\xc2\xb7 Excellent presentation skills

\xc2\xb7 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.

\xc2\xb7 Strategic thinking and the ability to contribute to overall business strategy based on catastrophe risk insights.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

\xc2\xb7 Professional certifications (e.g., AINS, CPCU, ARE, etc.).

\xc2\xb7 Strong hold on MS Office \xe2\x80\x93 Excel, Access, Power Point, VBA

\xc2\xb7 Familiarity with catastrophe modeling software and industry-standard tools.

\xc2\xb7 Experience with programming languages such as Python or R would be an advantage
