It provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development & implementation, Business Intelligence, reporting and data management Global Business/Global Function (Ex: WPB, CMB, GRA etc.): The GDC/ GAC Wholesale unit in Kolkata/Bangalore provides analytics, data & insight support to various HSBC CMB/ GB portfolios. Team\'s focus is on using logical thought process and relevant statistical techniques and right tools & techniques & productize scaled solutions to analyze product portfolio metrics and risk behavior to arrive at value-based optimum decisions. Wholesale CDAO Function: This function is part of the Wholesale COO function and aims at bringing together existing CMB and GB D&A functions into a single Wholesale Data & Analytics function. As part of this significant programme of change, the function is expected to re-design and rationalize the Analytics, Technology, Architecture and Data. The key areas of focus for the WCDAO function include: The execution and communication of Group Data Strategy & Group Data vision within LOB. Representing the LOB at the relevant data governance forums, committees. Ensures data is managed consistently and in a controlled manner for various business requirements which is used by different functions. Defines, documents and establishes guidelines to manage critical data elements consistently. Support DPOs with responses to data protection enquiries and in reviewing Privacy impact assessments. Defines principles for identification, use, and documentation for sourcing of data. Defines the principles that must be followed for the design, definition and implementation of data models. Track the usability of external data and continuously check for the opportunity for optimizing the cost. Delivering periodic global data quality scores through extraction, preparation and processing customer, connected party, CARM, Account-Product level data from multiple data sources. Managing Data quality issues raised globally across teams, processes & functions What you\'ll do: : Business Consulting job family is structured to address end-to-end business needs. Members of this Job Family are differentiated by their capability of providing the required consultation & work with end-business by way of assessing the requirements, identifying the right analytical solution that can solve for the business problem, and developing the same for execution - often covering areas of business growth, improving customer experience, limiting risk exposure, enhancing internal business processes etc. They are required to, as necessary, embed agile & exploratory practices into their approach as needed, and retain the flexibility to change track to adopt other solutions based on changed scenarios, in order to deliver on effective results. This talent group can be tapped into for providing solutions for varying areas including improving existing processes, technology and approaches by embedding exploratory & analytics & taking it forward with a consulting mind set. Ability to convert business problem to an analytical problem. Providing high-quality analysis and strategy recommendations to business problems. Manage delivery within agreed timelines and as per agreed quality standards. Also drive business benefit through self-initiated projects Act as an SME/consultant on a functional area, conceptualise analytical solution for the business problem at hand for multiple businesses/region Focus on driving efficiency gains and enhancement of processes. Partner with the business effectively to drive data driven decisions and generate value. Use of data to improve customer outcomes through the provision of insight and challenge Also drive business benefit through self-initiated projects Requirements What you will need to succeed in the role: Skills/Experience Required: Master\'s degree from reputed university in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other quantitative fields Experience in managing data with database knowledge or a Consulting experience in the data space. Knowledge in SQL and Python must. Having knowledge/experience in SAS and Pyspark would be added preferred. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel including macro based excel sheets. Strong analytical skills with business analysis experience or equivalent. Knowledge and understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations preferred. Advanced capability in translating complex and/or technical work and insights into straightforward business language. Excellent interpersonal skills with highly developed capacity to constructively challenge and influence management. Proven problem solving skills with ability to consider alternative and innovative solutions Besides strong written and verbal communication skills the incumbent is also expected to have strong presentation skills Want to apply All applicants must have successfully completed their probation period.
