Roles and Responsibility

  • Standard Chartered (\xe2\x80\x9cThe Bank\xe2\x80\x9d) is a leading international bank operating in some of the most dynamic markets in the world, in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
  • This is a role within Global Finance Service, based in India, supporting strategic system, process and analytics build out for Treasury and Finance community globally. The team supports implementation of complex Treasury and Finance methodologies in an interdependent Tech stack and Process framework by engaging policy, process and technology teams across functions and locations. The outcomes impact various Finance metrics of Bank\xe2\x80\x99s performance and is an input to drive strategic decision making and support the communication of the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s performance to external stakeholders.
  • The role provides an opportunity to interact directly with a range of senior management within Standard Chartered, develop a strong understanding of the Bank and its Finance landscape and drive complex strategic programs and influence how the Process and technology is built for some of the key metrics that influence external stakeholders such as investors and ratings agencies.
  • The role suits an individual who can conceptualise, problem solve and possess the tenacity to execute in a dynamic set up. The individual should be fluent in one of the key areas, in Treasury and FPnA \xe2\x80\x93 Fund Transfer Pricing, Treasury Markets, Treasury Capital, Bank financial statements and have good understanding of banking products, Financial Metrics/Ratios.
  • Execution across a diverse set of Business, Operation, Technology, and Vendor partner to drive the solution outcome that positively impacts the Treasury CFO and FPnA organisations are essential for the role.
  • The ideal candidate would have experience in any one of the functions Finance/FP&A, Treasury Product Control, Liquidity/Capital with specific financial institutions, or functional consulting, Enterprise product Management in banking environment. Prior experience in balance sheet management, capital and liquidity, FTP, FpNA Operations is considered favourably.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • A lead role in charting out and driving business outcome through technology and process solutioning,
  • Develop deep understanding of Treasury Finance Policies and methodologies
  • Deeply understand Bank\xe2\x80\x99s FP&A processes, Technology landscape, Internal and External Reporting stack
  • Own the bottom-line responsibility of the solution roadmap and execution.
  • Product manage the Technology build out of the solution
  • Support the business teams (CFO and FP&A) in the implementation and embedment
  • Analysis of Treasury\xe2\x80\x99s P&L, balance sheet and RWA and support the annual corporate plan and budgeting process of Treasury
  • Develop and drive analysis of Treasury\xe2\x80\x99s Performance against appropriate asset and liability benchmarks, allocations to business segments and their impact across various reporting metrics
  • Develop a strong internal network by
  • Proactively engaging key Treasury stakeholders
  • Representing the team and department at various working groups/ committees
  • Reaching out to other business areas/ regions to ensure best practice is implemented
  • Work closely with process owners in Management Reporting and Planning to ensure a straight though solutioning, and timely, accurate and consistent process framework across FP&A.
  • This role requires strong understanding of current financial performance drivers, metrics, across Treasury and Finance.
  • Form strong relationships with internal stakeholders in Treasury, Finance and global functions. These typically include FP&A teams, Treasury, Global Process Owners/Managers, Technology Heads, Architects and Tech Delivery Leads.
  • Regular briefing and knowledge sharing within team across locations on business performance themes.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Strong academic record at bachelor or master\xe2\x80\x99s degree level in business, finance or related field from a well-recognized institution
  • Excellent communication, Strong self-starter and comfortable with senior stakeholder interaction
  • Proficient with power point and excel, Tableau, SQL and any other programming languages of choice is an added advantage
  • Prior experience in Treasury, balance sheet management or FP&A/ Performance management and familiarity with FTP
  • Proven strategic and analytical skills with a strong appetite for finding facts and offering solutions across Technology and Processes frameworks
