Job Title: Automation Tester
Experience Range: 5+ Years
Hiring Location: [Specify Location - e.g., Bangalore, India / Remote / Hybrid]
Role Proficiency:
Ensures adherence to testing practices and processes to improve test coverage, ensure software quality, and support business outcomes through strategic QA initiatives.
Key Responsibilities / Outcomes:
Create detailed test estimates and schedules
Analyze business processes, conduct risk analysis, and ensure full test coverage
Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Katalon Studio
Participate in test planning, execution, and reporting
Prepare and publish test summary reports, RCA reports, and preventive measures
Collaborate with stakeholders in reviews, walkthroughs, and demos
Contribute to UAT, functional, and non-functional testing
Identify defects and perform defect tracking and root cause analysis
Work in Agile/Waterfall environments and contribute to QA best practices
Suggest alternate testing strategies that may contribute to cost savings for clients
Ensure quality documentation, compliance, and traceability (e.g., RTM)
Must-Have Skills:
5+ years in software testing (manual + automation)
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in automation testing using Katalon Studio
Strong expertise in:
Test Plan preparation
Test Case creation and execution
Regression testing automation
Functional and Non-functional testing
Experience with API testing
Strong understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
Experience writing test cases from user stories/requirements
Ability to conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and prepare test metrics
Defect lifecycle management and UAT coordination
Proficiency in using bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
Good-to-Have Skills:
Experience in performance testing of applications and APIs
Familiarity with test automation frameworks and best practices
Experience in running and managing UAT sessions
Exposure to CI/CD and integration with automation tools
Experience in Test Estimation and Effort Scheduling
Knowledge of:
Test design techniques
Estimation techniques
Test review efficiency metrics
Prior experience contributing to knowledge management: best practices, lessons learned

Defect Leakage Metrics (% of UAT/Production defects)
% of Test Case Reuse
