Job Description



Business Intelligence Associate Technical Lead is responsible to work with Technical Consultant, Domain architect, key business stakeholders identifying and gathering requirements and delivering high end BI solutions/reports, drive the BI technical solutions. The resource will be required to work hands-on using technology knowledge and solving impediments, bring innovative approaches that continuously improve our ability to deliver faster, better and cheaper solutions while reducing the time and cost to build BI and analytics solutions and on-board with highest quality.


This role focuses on development, creation, and modification of MSBI software applications, Analyse user needs and develop ETL solutions. Enhance and design databases to support front end application, working individually as a lead developer on MSBI Stack and helping development team.


This role demands someone with high analytical ability and who is highly committed and motivated. The person should have good communication skills, excellent at removing impediments and breaking down complex tasks into simple easy to complete milestones, willing to jump in and solve the problem.


How you will influence:


  • Design and develop data structure, data model for BI system and support development team members in design and development of complex BI Solutions

  • Write complex SQL queries to fetch required data and Design Data warehouse solutions as pe business requirement

  • Improve the overall code base of the applications by ensuring compliance to coding standards and guidelines

  • Be responsible for generating actionable insights/recommendations to help clients address their ongoing problems

  • Ensure availability to resolve any on-going issues and improve the overall health of project by implementing eXtreme Programming practices across teams

  • Interact with required teams and stakeholders to determine their needs and to develop plans for continuous improvement


What you will be doing:


  • Design and build MSBI ETL, SSAS Cube ,SSRS reports and assist in development of complex ad hoc queries and analyses

  • Manage delivery and quality of work in line with agreed KPIs and SLAs

  • Perform required PoC on technical implementation as per business requirements

  • Closely work with Technical Consultant and Architect on Architecture Epics/Initiatives and support technical solutions

  • Ensure that all designs are built in accordance with industry best practice and standards. This includes ensuring that the logical modeling activity is consistent with the other technical project activities

  • Providing end to end software delivery on development, design, and systems integration for client engagement from definition phase through deployment to production

  • Ensure appropriate and latest code base source control using TFS and Release Automation tools (experience on XL Release tool will be given preference)

  • Automation of Release/Packaging process for BI applications through the use of PowerShell scripts

  • Learning new skills and technologies as required to meet the changing needs of business

  • Applying significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve the service to clients

  • Development and coding of BI applications being implemented in different technologies primarily MSBI stack (SQL/T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) on SQL Server 2016 and higher version. With preference for SQL 2016 & higher version (SSDT \xe2\x80\x93 SQL Server Data tools as an IDE)

  • Work with Technical Consultant to support resolution of any ongoing issues and technical solutions

  • Builds relationships with clients and required teams

  • Diagnosis and troubleshooting of deployment/production issues


What we need:


  • Candidate must have standard MSBI (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) skills on SQL Server 2016 (SSDT \xe2\x80\x93 SQL Server Data tools as an IDE) that relate to following \xe2\x80\x93 SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) \xe2\x80\x93 Tabular (DAX scripting) and Multidimensional (MDX scripting) cube models, SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and Relational Datawarehouse implementation, power shell scripting

  • Proven MSBI technology experience of more than 5- 6 years undertaking initiatives covering design and development of composite BI&DW (Business Intelligence & Data Warehouse) applications

  • Should possess demonstrated real hands-on work experience with designing/delivering one or more large BI & DW (Business Intelligence & Data warehouse) systems covering entire development lifecycle

  • Understands complex database concepts and effectively employ different database design techniques

  • Strong experience of ER Modeling, Dimensional Modeling, logical and physical database design

  • Strong understanding of dashboard development cycle i.e., data discovery, data modelling, data visualization, and distribution of reports/dashboards basis one of the dashboarding tools.

  • Strong ability on producing technical design for BI applications with focus on non-functional requirements (NFR) like quality, scalability, performance and security

  • Experience in dashboard development wherein experience of Power BI or Tableau will be an advantage (not mandatory)

  • A good understanding of the Applications Lifecycle Management(ALM), with full lifecycle experience, from design through to development, testing and deployment

  • A good understanding of agile methodologies, implementing eXtreme programming/practices such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Pair programming, Test Drive Development etc

  • Ability to guide and lead Developers across multiple projects

  • Very strong communication skills are required. Must be capable of interacting with solution architects, other technology teams to identify technology opportunities

Additional Requirements

  • Experience in using development tools such as Visual Studio 2015 or higher, configuration and design tools such as TFS, Visio etc

  • Agile/Scrum Methodology (experience in SAFe framework, Rally tool will be an added advantage)


Desired Skills

  • Relevant certification in Microsoft BI tool set and/or Dashboarding tool


Education and Experience

  • Requires B.E./B.Tech/MCA from reputed college with high grades, and strong relevant professional experience
