Role Purpose Statement (Write a brief statement regarding the objective of the position and why it exists):

This position is responsible to execute shipments/vessels and ensure flawless execution of commodity trade contracts, which services the Asia Pacific Oils Execution/operations for Bunge. This is an Individual contributor role with an added responsibility of controlling product Specific Execution, Position File with commercial & appointment of Surveyor /Shipping agents .

Main Accountabilities (List 6-8 major areas of responsibilities in order of importance, and purpose of these activities:

  • Follow-up and gather information on shipment to be executed - vessel selection and confirmation from the Business Team
  • Perform vessel screening to ensure compliance as per Bunge Global guidelines - Review of reports, Check availability of vessel charter party agreement, vessel certificates and others
  • Gather information on contracts nominated on the vessel to be executed from the Business Team
  • Update vessel nomination details to Sellers and Buyers (counterparties)
  • Follow-up and get conformance on vessel nomination from counterparties
  • Update and maintain vessel master status files
  • Create contract vessel and parcel in SAP system, and Nominate purchase/sales contracts in SAP system
  • Timely execute & settle purchase/sales contracts in SAP system
  • Receive freight and purchase invoices from sellers and forward it to co-workers (Finance team) for payments processing
  • Negotiate Letters of Credit and Prepare shipping documents
  • Prepare and issue cargo stowage plans for CDSBO vessels to India. Aligned with commercial to maximize the intake.
  • Finalize the Surveyor & Shipping agents to be appointed on CDSBO vessels and Monitor their Service delivery.
  • Provide guidance and inputs to co-workers (Documents team) on documents to be prepared for vessel execution for submission to internal and external stakeholders
Additional responsibilities:
  • Resolve execution related queries for the team & self within defined timelines
  • Provide reports and run queries to assist the Finance Team in period end closing process
  • Identify ideas for process improvement utilizing industry leading practices
  • Handle exceptions generated, perform root cause analysis to resolve current issues and act proactively to avert potential issues in future
  • Provide all information, documents and reports for audit. Post the audit; take steps as per corrective action plan drafted by the Team Leader.

Responsible to unlock the business value linked to the commodity contract by flawless execution of at-least 40 + vessels of around 20 Billion USD. Ensure Execution team is complying with SOX & Audit requirements under CON-0303, 08 & 09.

  • Timeline of completion of Execution Life Cycle (From BL date to Presentation Date). Baseline for best in Class TAT is 5 Days.
  • Control of Payment Collections from Buyer (Within Contractual Payment Deadline

This is an Individual contributor role and Management/Leadership skills are not mandated for this role. However this role is to be developed as a 2 Tier within 2-3 years to replace the Team Lead Trade Execution. IDP's should be assigned after confirmation on this particular role.

Key Relationships, Stakeholders & Interfaces (External & Internal):

This is a role that interacts with trading, freight, execution, controlling, accounting, finance desks of Bunge Asia Region.

Knowledge and Technical Competencies (Identify knowledge and specific technical competencies to accomplish the desired end results. Some examples are licenses & certifications and knowledge and abilities):
  • Relevant experience in handling bulk, break-bulk and container shipments of Agri-commodities, with good knowledge of GAFTA and NAEGA contracts' rules.
  • Good knowledge of concepts and procedures related to shipment of trade commodities and related terms & guidelines, including expertise in Letters of credit and shipping documents
  • Strong written & oral communications skills in English. Knowledge of European languages added advantage
  • Excellent computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience in working with SAP system (Added Advantage)

Education/Experience (Identify types and length of education and experience needed to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to accomplish the desired end results. Some examples are education & training, and years of experience):
  • 4-7 years of work experience in a similar role (Veg Oil Trade Execution or Veg Oil Shipment Execution)
  • Minimum Education Qualification - Graduation. Post-graduation would be an advantage.
  • MISC or CDCS (Added Advantage)
