Airframe Service Engineering team serves as the single technical face of Boeing to the Customer and to: expeditiously resolve customer Service Requests (SRs); provide FAA compliance documentation; and report, analyze, and resolve safety events and issues. The Airframe Service Engineering team strives to mitigate and prevent future Service Requests (SRs) and increase operational safety and reliability by developing/adding repairs to the Structural Repair Manual (SRM) and completing Service Related Problems (SRPs).
Boeing India Engineering is currently looking for Associate Mechanical & Structural Design Engineer (Service Engineering) to join the team in Bangalore, India. This position will focus on providing 24/7
support to Boeing commercial airplane customers. This position offers a unique opportunity to work complex technical challenges in support of safety operation and return to service.

The candidate performs retrofit/repair design and drawing configuration analysis using Boeing standard design tools in support of fleet wide and individual airplane safety issues. Initiates and coordinates multiple disciplines for major/minor determination activities in support of fleet wide safety related projects, structural repair manuals (SRM), and service bulletins. Provides product definition support to other engineering teams and suppliers. Develops new design/repair processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the customer service support. Develops and manages work statements and represent the work group in technical as well as nontechnical reviews boards.

Position Responsibilities:
Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system design.
Develops, maintains and modifies component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
Assists with investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
Works under minimal direction.
Willing to support a 24/7 on-call rotation schedule and the ability to work variable shifts, including weekends or overtime.
Being a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.
Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams within Boeing and external partners.
Demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Be fluent in written and spoken English.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors or Masters in Engineering (preferably in Aeronautical / Aerospace or equivalent discipline) with 6 years of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 or more years of experience with structural design principles (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques).
Experience with engineering tools such as CATIA, ENOVIA, PDM, NASTRAN and PATRAN finite element modeling software.
Experience in Airplane Design, Stress Analysis, Liaison Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering.
Experience working transport category airplane certification or production/fleet support projects involving FAA approval.
Knowledge in Geometric dimension and tolerance (Y14.5) and Boeing drafting standards.
Masters of Science in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace engineering preferred
