Data Architect assist in designing, planning, and managing the data migration process and manage assigned risks and monitor potential impacts as part of the data migration plan.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Assist in designing, planning, and managing the data migration process
• Manage assigned risks and monitor potential impacts as part of the data migration plan.
• Manage data migration tasks within timeline
• Work with System Analyst, Data owners and stewards and project team to identify, define, collate, document, and communicate the data migration requirements.
• Work across multiple functional areas to understand data usage and implications for data migration
• Work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment. Develop best practice, processes, and standards for effectively carrying out data migration activities.
• Perform source system data analysis to manage source to target data mapping
• Perform migration and testing of static data and transaction data from one core system to another
• Creation of end-user documentation for the new repository, as well as mentoring & training as needed
• Identification of, or creation of, cost-effective tools that may automate data migration.
• Updating and maintaining a database of records which index and reference archived documents.

Primary Skills

• Experience with data migration efforts for large platforms.
• Knowledge of database scripting, automation technologies and ETL technology (Abinitio preferred)
• Good understanding of Unix OS concepts
• Experience with Software Development tools, SQL Loader, Import/Export tools
• Must have 8-12 years of experience with the following: PL/SQL & SQL Plus background, and/or SQL Loader, SQL Server 2016.
• Experience with SQL Server and ETL processes.
• Provide guidance, assistance, coordination and follow up on migration queries, problems, data issues or malfunctions of feed related systems applications
• Inform management of potential problems and identifies problem trends.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, including a wide range of architectures and technologies.
