Associate Director- external communications
The opportunity

As associate director of external communications, you will play a key role in helping to achieve this objective by developing and implementing proactive PR / Social media campaigns that enhance and protect EY\xe2\x80\x99s ( EY GDS) reputation externally and with key external stakeholders. This position is responsible for setting the strategy, creating and coordinating communications initiatives, measuring and tracking results, and serving as the focus contact for their assigned stakeholder.
This role requires a dynamic, proactive communicator who is adept at moving from strategy to ground execution, commands a strong understanding of media and social media relations, has a good network of media contacts, and excels at building strong relationships with senior-level stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities

• Builds relationships with stakeholders to help provide strategic communications support to meet approved business goals and objectives.
• Develops and executes a comprehensive external communications strategy, including executive positioning and channel management to meet the strategic objectives.
• Serves as a key leader in the communications team and develops and executes plans that inform, inspire and engage various audiences.
• Advises and influences EY GDS External Communications Leader and executive stakeholders on the optimal mix of communications and enablement, leveraging appropriate channels.
• Develops and manages metrics to measure and report on the return-on-investment tracking process for all external communication initiatives.
• Work with stakeholders to write, develop and activate thought leadership articles for various external communications platforms
• Work collaboratively with BMC colleagues to build compelling campaigns that reach a broad range of stakeholders, maximizing the PR and external affairs opportunities by using a wide range of PR and external comms tactics.
• Build and maintain effective journalist relationships to support EY\xe2\x80\x99s BMC strategy and manage risks.
• Advise stakeholders and manage communications during crisis scenarios including natural disasters, local office emergencies, personnel issues, etc.
• Monitors the effectiveness of all plans and adjusts as needed.
• Responsible for knowledge sharing within and outside of the communications team.
• Participates and provides insights in key leadership meetings.
• Drives key research initiatives around communications and enablement.
• Explores innovative uses of technology to achieve communications goals.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Experience of working with a broad range of stakeholders, contributing to integrated communications and marketing campaigns.
• The intellectual rigor and creativity to work with complex and sometimes technical subject matter.
• A thorough understanding of PR and media relations strategies, including experience of using social media as part of integrated communications campaigns.
• Proven ability to form strong and effective working relationships with journalists and other external influencers.
• A strong team player and lateral thinker, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently.

Ideally, you\xe2\x80\x99ll also have

• 18-20 years of work experience.
• Experience in media relations and corporate communications for large and complex organizations.
• Experience in digital and social media marketing for large corporates
• Experience stakeholder management as part of wider communications campaigns.

What we look for

• Experience in B2B communications preferred.
