Reporting to: Manager, Communications We are looking for an exceptional storyteller and social media creator to take the reins of both national and (select) regional communications efforts at Teach For India. You will play a critical role in Teach For India\xe2\x80\x99s brand-building efforts, thereby impacting the overall visibility of our work and our collective impact in a big way. You will gather and disseminate impactful stories to important stakeholders: prospective Teach For India Fellows, our Alumni community, Students and Donors. Your role will involve managing regional content, influencer engagement, PR activities, and event coordination. This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys content generation, social media and events.

Responsibilities


Strengthen Regional Communications
  • Curate and write compelling stories featuring Fellows, Students, Alumni, and Donors.
  • Plan and maintain monthly content calendars and execute campaigns to enhance brand awareness.
  • Curate and execute Teach For India\'s monthly regional newsletter with a readership target of 2000+.
  • Identify, source, and support the execution of local partnerships for Fellows, Students, and Alumni (e.g., speaking engagements, awards, content creator interactions).
Engage with Influencers and Media
  • Build relationships with influencers and celebrities to drive engagement, advocacy, and traffic on our digital platforms.
  • Plan and cover city-specific events to capture impactful stories and engage with key stakeholders, including donors and media.
  • Curate regional stories and collaborate with regional teams to identify powerful narratives for media engagement.
  • Plan and execute high-quality events content and coverage, including campaigns for Alumni Inductions and special TFI events.
As an Associate at Teach For India
  • Contributing to the team goals and priorities beyond individual goals and priorities.
  • Serving as an ambassador of the Teach For India brand and an advocate for our work and for educational equity in our country through both internal and external communication after commiting time in our classrooms to understand our work more deeply.
  • Supporting with key organizational areas such as Recruitment, Selection, Fundraising, Volunteering, Movement Building.

Minimum Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations


  • 1+ years of relevant work experience in communication, marketing, and media roles.
  • A social media bent of mind (quick test: Do you think of a reel or meme format for every occasion of life? Do you know what music is trending only because you learnt the hook step already?)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, storytelling, project management, and analytics skills.
  • General knowledge of social media listening tools is desirable.

Preferred Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations


  • Previous experience in the development/education sector.
  • Previous experience in a brand/marketing/social media role either with a brand or agency.
