Job Summary: One of the fastest growing Business Consultancy firm, is keen to hire for the role of Associate for its Strategic Finance and Investment Banking division, for its Bangalore office. The ideal candidate should be a qualified CA / MBA / CFA having past experience in Due Diligence, Investment Banking, and other related fields.

A management and finance advisory working with leading startups, is engaged in providing Strategic Finance, Investment Banking and Mergers and Acquisition services. The firm has been relevant to organizations ranging from seed-funded companies to listed companies across North America & Asia and has worked with leading startups including Third Wave Coffee, Hubbler, Alicia Souza, Vedantu, Bloom Energy amongst others.

Overview of the Job:

In your role, you\'ll be part of a dynamic team of 2-3 colleagues, contributing significantly to problem-solving for clients. A typical consulting engagement involves various activities, including analyzing businesses, diagnosing problems, evaluating root causes, developing solutions, simulating outcomes, creating achievable plans, setting milestones, executing plans, and providing ongoing results reporting.

Location: Bangalore

Job Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Finance - A typical engagement in SFO could entail, inter alia, analyzing the business, diagnosing a problem, evaluating the root cause, developing solutions, simulating the possible outcomes, creating an achievable plan, drawing milestones, executing the plan and reporting the results on an ongoing basis.

- Management reporting & Analytical MIS.

- Business efficiency & effectiveness mapping.

- Business structuring, restructuring and reorganizations.

- Instituting management frameworks or new tools & techniques.

- Developing efficiency and performance improvement measures.

- Investing methodologies, risk advisory & control systems.

2. Investment Banking + M&A - A typical engagement in IB entails, analyzing the business, identifying the opportunity, ascertaining the value of the business, developing the go-to-market strategy, creating the business & financial model, evaluating funding scenarios, evaluating the right investors for a deal and participating in deal-making (negotiations, valuation & structuring of the deal).

- Modeling/ remodeling of businesses to unlock their growth potential

- Preparation of deal collateral like a detailed financial model, detailed investor information memorandums and summary investor pitches

- Performing valuations and benchmarking against other comparators

- Capital structuring and providing negotiation inputs to stakeholders

- Identification of investor thesis, mandate research, fund strategy

- Synergy analysis or post transaction fitment analysis.

Experience Requirements:

1. Experience in Client-Facing & Delivery Teams and from Big6 or, Consulting firms like MBB, Oliver Wyman, Parthenon, A&M or, Client-facing experience in investment banking or, Boutique investment banking firm or, VC/PE firm.

2. Exposure to Finance and Management Projects:

- Founders Office/Chief of Staff/Management Reporting.

- Business Modeling for Growth Unlocking

- Creating Deal Collateral, including Financial Models and Investor Information

- Conducting Valuations and Benchmarking

- Structuring Capital and Offering Negotiation Inputs

- Identifying Investor Thesis, Conducting Mandate Research, and Defining Fund Strategy

- Analyzing Synergy or Post-Transaction Fitment

Skills and Expertise:

1. Financial or business analysis and evaluation

2. Corporate finance/business finance

3. Management reporting/stakeholder management

4. Assurance or risk advisory

5. Efficiency measurements/assessment

Good to have skills:

1. High-quality recommendations on work style, work ethic & performance

2. Deal evaluations or liaising with investors/networks

3. Investment banking or M&A related support

4. Role in strategy offices/chief executive offices

5. Role involving core research in finance

Educational Requirements:

1. Good Academic Record with either:

CA/CFA/CIMA/ACCA/CPA or MBA/MS - Finance

2. From a Top Tier management school anywhere in the world in Finance, Management, Business Strategy.

Must have Work Qualities:

1. Strong skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

2. Above-average quantitative analytical skills

3. Interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure

4. High attention to detail and work deliverables

5. A profile of extracurricular work and activities

6. Excellent writing and presentation skill.

Interpersonal skills must have:

1. Ability to work under pressure and strong presence of mind

2. Self-starter/ initiative/self-motivated & ambitious

3. Strong knowledge in business and current affairs

4. A profile of extra-curricular work and activities

5. A willingness to travel

Work type: Work from office

Working days: Monday to Saturday

Salary: To be decided post-interview based on your experience, skills, and knowledge. But be rest assured, that you will get a good hike on your current salary :)
