Prepare, review, and file multi-jurisdictional communications sales/use, business and occupation, and gross receipts, uut, puc tax returns for monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual filings
Understanding the aspects of accurate return preparation and leveraging technology / knowledge to improve efficiency
Receiving, reviewing and processing clients' data files
Maintain/update customer and filing calendar information
Research and resolve jurisdictional notices on behalf of customers
Preparing month end reports for client records
Reconciliations or other pre/post filing tasks as assigned
Perform QA related to comms/sales & use tax content and form changes
Manage workload to effectively meet deadlines; Ability to meet the strict statutory deadlines and ensuring accurate and timely reporting
Identify ways to improve process and/or technology to better serve our customers
Participates in projects and process improvements for the department
Updates / maintains all spreadsheets and tax calendars for various jurisdictions
Responsible for ad-hoc projects related to tax discipline. Analyze and summarize tax information and prepare appropriate reports.
Collaborate with other teams / members to develop and enhance procedures to capture workflow processes for identified responsibilities and support all Automation possibilities
Qualifications
0 - 3 years in multi-jurisdictional sales and use tax/communications preparation and filing.
Should have a MBA in any discipline (may not be from top B-school)
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently yet still function as a team player
Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet strict filing deadlines
Ability to learn and adapt to different software applications and tools
Provides examples of process improvements
Must have good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access (functions include pivot table, vlookup, hlookup, etc.)
Team player Teamwork-oriented with a strong focus on customer satisfaction
Attention to detail, with a drive to continuously improve
Results-oriented, highly organized, motivated and driven to succeed
Able to work under pressure
Self-driven, result oriented and adhering to deadline
