ROLE SUMMARY:

The Senior Engineer defines and manages teams, testing strategies, plans and deliverables related to testing within specific applications and programmes of work on a global basis. The QA Testing Lead Engineer takes a lead role in the establishment or execution of one or more test specialties for a larger testing unit or programme. The QA Testing Lead Engineer will manage and drive the adoption of recognised best practice and policy and contribute to the ongoing improvement of methodologies and assets in one or more of the following QA Testing disciplines:

Alternately the Lead QA and Testing Principal Engineer may possess or demonstrate specialist Business Testing knowledge or exceptional business/functional expertise that helps to define and drive the strategic and tactical direction of the testing practice. They will work with the QA Testing Principal Engineer to ensure delivery of technical/process solutions that adhere to the Bank s standards and industry best practice.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive the 'hands on' execution of the test strategy and plan, including the test preparation, execution, analysis and reporting activities.
  • Analyze, Design, develop and enhancement of automation framework for real-time transaction surveillance solution around the HotScan product.
  • Follow agile testing methodologies to ensure quality and consistency of deliveries
  • Manages the maintenance of automation suite and implements planned engineering changes according to agile principles / processes.
  • Lead and Manage the QA initiative in across agile teams.
  • Design, implementation, execution and results analysis of automated unit, integration, regression, resilience and performance tests.
  • Code reviews based on the four-eye principle as well as problem and root cause analysis.
  • Implementation and compliance with bank policies (naming conventions, encryption, security settings and other non-functional requirements).
Apart from daily development activities, it is also expected that you contribute on following activities:
  • Review, segregate and manage the take-in of vendor deliverables / packages
  • Contribute to QA of delivery of package/changes as per requirements
  • Presentation of QA approach and results in demo sessions
  • Latest technology adoption for technical as well as business audience in demo sessions
  • Expertise in understanding of client, business and Technical requirements and problem-solving skills (analyzes the defects, identify the root-cause and provide workaround/permanent solution).
  • Experience in handling Non Functional Testing (Load, performance).
EXPERIENCE/ Skill:
  • Total 8+ years of experience in IT industry with exposure to software Testing, development and maintenance of automation test suite, knowledge and hand-on experience in implementing test automation frameworks
  • Automation Tool/Framework - UFT, Selenium, Selenium Grid, Load Runner, Jmeter
  • Programming: VB Script, Java, Python, APIs
  • Query/Scripting: SQL basics, shell script/ pearl basics
  • Server Level Automation Testing
  • Middleware: IBM MQ, Active MQ
  • Tools: Jira, Confluence, Git, Maven, Artifactory, HP ALM
  • Hand-on experience in Test standards and procedures, and testing non-functional requirements
  • Practical experience with Build Tools (preferably Maven), Source Code Control (preferably Git), Continuous Integration (Hudson, Jenkins or TeamCity) and Cloud/ Docker based application deployment. Kafka, Spark, Elastic and Kibana working expertise. Professional GWT/GXT, Angular/React experience. TDD experience. Data modeling experience. Digitization experience: OCR, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence & Robotics
  • Proficient in Agile Development and understanding/knowledge of JIRA
  • Ability to produce well-tested, documented, high-performance code to tight schedules

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent) - with a minor in Finance, Mathematics or Engineering preferred.
