Principal Lending is past of MFS Seclending function:

  • Temporarily transfers of title of the security (Loan) and associated rights and privileges.
  • Lender has the Right to recall the security.
  • Lender receives collateral from the borrower, valued higher than the value of the lent securities.
  • The margin levels are \xe2\x80\x9cmarked-to-market,\xe2\x80\x9d to ensure that the loan is sufficiently collateralized on all times.
  • Pre-negotiated fee is charged by the Lender on the borrower for each loan till the loans are closed.

Position Purpose

The AVP - Principal Lending operations will be responsible for taking care of the Back Office operations functions for Principal Lending business in Chennai Location. He or She is responsible to monitor the productivity of the processes, monitor and manage risks, people and overall governance of the department by efficiently channelizing the respective Managers/N-1s to provide high quality of service to the internal stakeholders, business and to the clients. He or She expected to drive strategic projects in the location by working efficiently with the Global stakeholders of other locations, to help in implementing global objectives.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

Operations

\xc2\xb7 Responsible for full back office operational functions of Principal lending operational processes such as Settlements, Collateral Management, Global Static Data, Reconciliations, Income & Corporate Actions and Fee management across all regions (APAC, EMEA and Americas)

\xc2\xb7 Foster relationships across multiple areas in the firm including trading desks, operations, technology, compliance departments and global groups to standardize the processes

\xc2\xb7 Enable brain-storming sessions with N-1s to identify recurring issues that impact Client and their desired level of services

\xc2\xb7 Ensure procedures, skill matrixes are updated to-date, monitor the knowledge base of each teams and ensure there are no operational dependencies.

\xc2\xb7 Be a role model and act with high standards by being accountable and by taking ownership

Risk Management

\xc2\xb7 Monitor the team\'s performance and quality of delivery against the agreed SLAs and standards Follow up on cash, trade & position breaks, pending fee payments of the activities.

\xc2\xb7 Closely monitor the non-cover report of collateral management and ensure sensitive clients with high book values are given extra care.

\xc2\xb7 Identify the pain points and implement the fixes and adequate control measures to maximize the standards to meet Client\'s desired level.

\xc2\xb7 Manage internal and external audit and own up the finding and recommendation and steer it until completion Implement temporary/strategic fix to reduce risk and manual work via consultative approach with Global stakeholders

\xc2\xb7 Co-ordinate on all Audit related activities related to the perimeter and ensure results are "General Satisfactory"

\xc2\xb7 Fair understanding of the regulatory environment and upcoming changes.

Budget and Governance

\xc2\xb7 Conduct Monthly Service Level Calls with Paris Global Heads and conduct Weekly Management calls with N-1s to cascade management communications and receive key operational inputs, issues and incident follow ups

\xc2\xb7 Plan and define Business continuity Plan for each functions to address a possible Extreme Risk Scenario

\xc2\xb7 Manage the cost code and budget allocation for the department and ensuring effective utilization are in line with the Global figures.

\xc2\xb7 Going beyond individual objectives for the benefit of the bank as a whole.

Key Requirements

\xc2\xb7 Graduation from a recognized University, preferably a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Commerce or MBA (Finance)

\xc2\xb7 Candidate should have minimum of 10 years of overall experience in capital market operations (preferably a few years in Securities Lending/Custodian Operations) of a Multi-National Banking Company with at least 6-8 years of management experience
