What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

The role holder\'s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Support the Head of Regulatory Affairs in managing the Group\xe2\x80\x99s risk in relation to UK regulatory developments relevant to the Compliance function.
  • Identification and oversight of material compliance "upstream" and "downstream" regulatory developments, supporting the UK to address regulatory change.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider UK RA team, the Global RA Team and the European/Wholesale RA team to monitor, assess and support relevant stakeholders in dealing with regulatory developments affecting the Group and its activities.
  • Discharge the relevant accountabilities as set out in the Group Standards Manual and Compliance FIM, including establishing relevant policies, procedures, systems and controls in relation to identifying, impact assessing, allocating ownership for, reporting on and responding to UK regulatory developments.
  • Provide Compliance advice on regulatory developments in the UK.
  • Proactively engage with and support consultation responses, lobbying and wider industry discussion and similar work in relation to material UK regulatory developments and work collaboratively with other relevant internal stakeholders within the GLEU RA and where relevant with other key stakeholders including for example the Legal function, Financial Sector Policy Unit and Regulatory Development specialists in other Global Functions.
  • Assist the Head of Regulatory Affairs deliver timely and quality reporting on UK regulatory developments including a summary of key risks and issues to the Regional and where appropriate Global Business Line RA teams and to all relevant stakeholders, including Compliance and management teams and wider Group management as required.
  • Continually enhance and improve reporting and coordination of the compliance response on UK regulatory developments and support Head of Regulatory Affairs in the provision of reports to UK management (RMM) and the HBUK and other UK Boards.
  • Develop and implement regular channels of communication for the sharing of information and best practices between RA and wider Compliance team members in relation to regulatory developments.
  • Ensure appropriate reporting of relevant regulatory developments occurs at all levels of the UK Businesses to allow an overall view of the Group\xe2\x80\x99s exposures to its material regulatory change to be obtained and the developments themselves to be managed appropriately.
  • Support the Regulatory Development team in conjunction with other members of the Compliance function in participating in UK regulatory change driven projects.
  • Identify, implement and then ensure appropriate use of systems to record, monitor and report on regulatory developments. Own relevant systems from an SME perspective and proactively work to develop them.
