GAC has become a one-stop shop for the group\'s analytic needs leading the integration of analytics and data-driven decisions not only in traditional areas such as Risk, Retail, Wholesale, Private & Commercial Banking but also in new domains such as Regulatory, Operations, Procurement, Human Resources, and Financial Crime Risk. It provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development & implementation, Business Intelligence, reporting and data management. Global Business/Global Function - Sub-Function: WIAC IFRS9 team is part of Data & Reporting Shared Service (DRS) responsible for the approvals, policies, portfolio management and reporting on the Group\'s Wholesale Credit and Market Risk exposures. The DRS Shared Service is present in offshore GSCs in India and Poland supporting the Group in the areas of Wholesale Credit, Risk Reporting and Data Management. IFRS 9 Financial Instruments is the most significant risk and accounting change since the initial adoption of IFRS, and one of the most significant changes in credit risk measurement since Basel II. The WIAC team is responsible for the ECL calculation for Group and Regions as per IFRS9 regulation for the wholesale book. The team supports multiple stakeholders across the globe both in Group & Regional offices, in addition to providing country level support as well. In addition, the teams will participate in various WMR projects & initiatives at all levels. The roleholder will oversee & manage the IFRS9 Reporting requirements for the wholesale book and will be accountable to the Group Head of Wholesale Impairments and locally to the Head of DRS Shared Service. The role holder is responsible to provide effective & cohesive leadership to the teams, and will participate in the DRS Leadership Team. What You will do: Job Family Classification and Description - The Job family involves the design, development and reporting of management information on a timely basis, which helps the business managers of the Global functions drive informed decisions. The job family requires the incumbent to plan & execute the assigned projects/ analysis per agreed timelines and with high levels of accuracy & quality. The IM job family requires access to various databases and tracking the performance of business metrics, trend analysis etc. and transforming the information into meaningful dashboards for the consumption of senior management. Candidate should be able to work on - Data standardization, report production, processes, trend analysis, automation, dashboard visualization and make presentations. Designing, developing, and delivering management reports to a global customer base in conformance with the prescribed standards, timelines, and quality requirements. Streamlining and automation of reporting in an effort to bring efficiencies across all reporting lines, with the help of the technical teams as may be required. Drive Reporting migration and BAU delivery independently for global / multiple region portfolios, manage the day-to-day BAU service delivery per agreed expectations around SLA\'s and KPI\'s, groom and manage the careers of the team members involved. Effectively drive and manage change, plan business contingency and achieve cross-training. Create an environment within the team which fosters free sharing of knowledge & ideas. Demonstrate effective leadership abilities to drive top-down strategic projects with a global or regional impact. Ability to challenge the statuesque, innovate and translates Business Strategic Imperatives into information management solutions. Adherence to Group policies, audit, controls, and compliance requirements including but not limited to Declaration of secrecy, data protection act, health, safety and security, clear desk policy. To continually assess the operational risks inherent in the processes, taking account of changing operating procedures, staff movements, legal and regulatory requirements, management restructures, and the impact of new technology. (Sub-function): The role holder will undertake responsibilities in the following areas: Manage the Delivery of BAU IFRS9 processes for the regions and group, including control monitoring and review. Support credit risk analysis and review of Impairment numbers including relevant portfolio level analysis of ECL, PD, LGD and other metrics. Ability to a provide a proactive focus on risk/issue identification and mitigation, recognising where MI should be escalated for further review Support credit risk analysis and speed up the analysis process using \'out of the box\' ideas on solution development Support development of new credit analysis solutions using analytics tools like SAS, Python and MI tools like QlikSense, Tab and similar tools. Promote a culture of control awareness and best practice across the impairment process Develop the team to become a Global Utility providing standardized & best in class solutions Work closely with senior management in Group Risk and provide inputs on off-shoring strategy, help draw up and implement strategic initiatives for the business and contribute towards the overall goals of WMR Work with the offshore management and help draw up process gap analysis and using the GSC\'s provide global and acceptable solutions Requirements What you will need to succeed in the role: To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements: Previous experience in credit risk, preferably modelling and IFRS 9 experience, preferable Basic knowledge of SAS programming (SAS Base, SAS Enterprise Guide) and/or python preferable Experience with data quality issues and mitigation Ability to work and develop MI solutions like QlikSense Business knowledge of credit and market risk will be preferred Ability to work on projects with multiple work streams and deliverables Strong communication skills and out of box thinking is essential. Leadership & Teamwork Able to work with a considerable degree of autonomy and pace on high priority deliverables Able to build relationships across a wide range of areas quickly, and to work in a virtual team to deliver outcomes Able to influence stakeholders effectively, including through exercising sound judgement about how best to approach delivery of activity that requires input from many different areas Functional Knowledge Familiarity with risk management framework and working knowledge across all risk types, which is sufficient to engage with risk stewards as needed. Deeper expertise in one or more risk types preferred, but not essential Familiarity with reporting tools, operational reporting processes and report production desirable Ability to grasp technical and complex issues (eg prudential risk matters) even where not an SME Sound understanding of HSBC governance frameworks, experience in preparing management information/committee/governance papers desirable but not essential Experience of regulatory priorities, regulatory engagement and delivering regulatory outputs desirable but not essential Others Sound written communication - Ability to produce a high-quality output Detailed oriented - attention to detail for reviewing and drafting risk MI and Reporting Stakeholder management and influence - proven ability to build relationships and demonstrate credibility. Can exercise sound judgement about how best to approach delivery of activity that requires input from many different areas. Adaptable and flexible - Comfortable in a changing environment where priorities evolve on a daily basis and there are multiple ad-hoc requests. Ideal candidate is able to multitask and reprioritise activities at speed. Comfortable under pressure - Confident working to very tight deadlines for Board and Executive stakeholders and quickly implementing stakeholder feedback. Skills/Experience Required: Master\'s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce or any other numerical discipline 8+ years of relevant work experience in Reporting & Analysis.
